Meet our board of directors below:
President: Jean Jones – A resident of Arvada, Jean is a retired legal secretary, division secretary, and customer service rep for GMAC. She has been a member of WHWB for 7 years and a board member for 3 years. She is also a past President/V.P. of a local seniors group. In 2000, she published a centennial history book for Edgewater, CO titled “A Centennial Celebration” and an article “Wild, Wild Edgewater” published in “Historically Jeffco” (2001).
Vice-President: Glenda Bredeson – A native of Arvada, Glenda has been an active volunteer for 50+ years in many organizations related to children and their families. Through the years she has served as an organizer, planner, leader, consultant, and recruiter for religious groups on air force bases and Girl Scouts. Glenda has been a Warm Hearts ~ Warm Babies board member since 2001 and enthusiastically recruits volunteers for our organization.
Treasurer: Bernice Henrickson – Bernice has a BS degree from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She worked in hospice until her retirement in 2017. Married to husband, Bob, for 52 years, Bernice has 3 children, Lance, Ashley, and Ann, married to Ryan. Her interests include reading, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Bernice has been a volunteer with WHWB since 2003.
General Director: Bonnie Yockstick – A resident of Arvada, Bonnie is an Associate in Ministry for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She has been involved in non-profit organizations (professionally and as a volunteer) for many years. Bonnie loves volunteering with people of all ages by serving on committees, leading retreats, and teaching. She has been an active member of WHWB since 2002 and is passionate about helping babies and their families.
General Director: Lori Kratzer – Lori has worked in the field of human resources and vocational rehabilitation over the past 25 years. She loves working with people and helping solve problems. Her mother, Shirley, was a member of Warm Hearts ~ Warm Babies for several years before Lori attended her first meeting. After that meeting in 2010, she said, “I’m hooked”. Shortly after her moms’ passing in 2011, Lori joined the Board of Directors. The first major project she worked was a fundraiser–the WHWB cookbooks. It was so much fun to see all the recipes and the history behind many of them. Of course, we love it when the volunteers bring them to the potluck for us to “taste test” them. Every recipe in the cookbook is awesome. One area of focus for me is the Demise Group—we make burial buntings and full-term burial outfits for boys and girls. We provide these items to hospitals, pregnancy centers, etc.
General Director: Laurie Balzer – Laurie is a SAHM (stay-at-home mom), an active member in her church ministry, a dedicated crafter, a previous member of Sharing Hope Org. in New Mexico and South Dakota. Laurie is a resident of Arvada and a WHWB member since 2005.
General Director: Pat Cisneros – Pat retired from telecommunications in the technical and marketing field as a manager and project coordinator. Pat served as a Loaned Executive to United Way and 10 years in retail management. A resident of Arvada and a WHWB member since 2010.
General Director: Anne Brockman – Anne moved to Colorado in 1998 to be near her children and grandchildren. In 2015 I discovered Warm Hearts Warm Babies when I was looking for a place to donate the 5 blankets I had knit. Because I live in a unique 55-plus community, I started the Skyestone group. I have been on the Board since 2017.
General Director: Evelyn Rudiger – Evelyn and her husband owned a small business for 30 years. During that time she managed the books and did payroll. Evelyn managed the daily activities necessary to keep the business running smoothly. She volunteers at WHWB because she feels that she is doing something for babies and moms in need. A resident of Arvada, Evelyn has been a WHWB member since 2010.
General Director: Lyn Hente – A former co-owner and active member of a construction company and very much enjoyed the hands-on construction and finishing of the custom homes they built. Prior to that, she spent 21 years as the wife of a career Air Force officer. She joined WHWB in 2007 with the Colorado Springs group and has enjoyed the opportunity to work with amazing volunteers – she also is a volunteer with her church. Lyn is a graduate of the University of Southern Colorado and she and her husband of 45 years have two children and three grandchildren. Lyn enjoys world travel and has more time for that since retiring in 2018.
